Why Many Christians Struggle to Make Their Faith Work

Why many believers Struggle

Many Christians know the principles of faith, yet when challenges arise, they struggle to apply them. The issue is rarely ignorance of the Word; it is often doubt, inconsistent confession, or actions that contradict God’s Word. The Bible warns, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22, NKJV). Faith produces results when it is practiced, not merely understood.

To apply faith effectively, the process must be followed:

Hear the Word — When challenges arise, turn to the Scriptures and listen to what God says about it. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17, NKJV).

Believe the Word — Be fully persuaded that God’s promise is true, just as Abraham was “fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform” (Romans 4:21, NKJV).

Speak the Word — Declare what God has said consistently. Instead of repeating the problem, complain, or murmur, speak the Word until you see change (Mark 11:23, NKJV). Remember, Jesus always said, “It is written.” Use the Word in faith; it is your shield to quench the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16, NKJV).

Act on the Word — Faith becomes effective through action, just as Peter stepped out when Jesus said, “Come” (Matthew 14:29, NKJV). Acting on the Word is how faith works. Every successful Christian is a faith worker!
