When You Let Go: Finding Rest and Peace in God

Finding peace and rest in God.

Worry begins as a quiet thought — a simple “what if?” that lingers in your mind. It starts small but grows when you dwell on it, gradually stealing your peace and filling your heart with fear. “When You Let Go: Finding Rest and Peace in God.”

Worry is that uneasy feeling that comes when we try to take control of what only God can handle. But peace begins when you let go, when you release the weight and allow God to take charge.

The Bible says, “Cast all your cares upon Me, for I care for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
This means letting go of the weight and allowing God to take charge. You were not created to carry fear or anxiety; you were made to trust the One who knows tomorrow.

Yielding is the key.
To yield means to stop fighting inside and let God lead. It means saying, “Lord, I can’t do this on my own, but I trust You completely.” When you yield, the Holy Spirit begins to work in your heart, calming your thoughts, steadying your emotions, and teaching you to rest.

Sometimes the peace of God doesn’t come because your situation has changed, but because you have. Peace isn’t the absence of trouble; it’s the presence of God within you.

The Bible says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You, because they trust in You” (Isaiah 26:3).
The more your thoughts rest on God’s Word, the more His peace fills your heart.

Take a moment today to tell God what’s been troubling you. Hand it over to Him completely, and then thank Him for taking care of it. That’s what faith does: it releases, it trusts, and it refuses to take the burden back.
